Pick-up from Chandigarh railway station or airport and the drive up to Manali.

Manali → Sarchu

An early start into Lahaul — Sissu, Gondla and the confluence at Tandi — then over Baralacha La to the camp at Sarchu.
The old itinerary crossed Rohtang Pass; most traffic now uses the Atal Tunnel.

Sarchu → Leh

Over Lachulung La and Tanglang La (5,328 m) to Leh.

Shey, Thiksey, Hemis & Stok
The Indus valley's palaces and monasteries — Shey, Thiksey, Hemis and the Stok Palace Museum.

Leh → Uleytokpo

Basgo Palace and the Likir and Alchi monasteries, then Uley Ethnic Resort.

Lamayuru → Kargil
~166 km 6 h
Lamayuru, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Ladakh, then on to Kargil, stopping at the giant rock-cut Buddha at Mulbekh.

Through Drass and down from Zoji La to Srinagar by evening.

Srinagar & the Mughal gardens
Nishat Bagh, laid out by Asif Khan in 1632, and Shalimar Bagh, built by Jahangir for Empress Nur Jahan, on the shore of Dal Lake below the Zabarwan hills.

- Season — 15 April to 15 July (and 20 December to 5 January on the Volvo packages) costs more than the rest of the year.
- Hotel category — Standard, Deluxe, Luxury or Premium.
- Group size — on the car tours the per-person price falls as the group grows, because the car is shared.
- Single occupancy and extra beds are charged at the hotel's rate.

How much does the Manali Leh Srinagar trip cost?
From ₹40,999 per person for two and ₹30,999 per person for four, in Standard hotels; Deluxe is ₹42,222 and ₹32,222. The flight home from Srinagar is not included.
When can you do this route?
When both the Manali–Leh and Srinagar–Leh highways are open — usually June to September. Dates change each year with the snow on the passes.
Do we stay on a houseboat?
Yes — the last two nights are on a houseboat in Srinagar.
